Staying strong! Alex Trebek has been very open about being diagnosed with stage IV pancreatic cancer and finally we’re getting some good news from him about his future on Jeopardy!

The 78-year-old took to Twitter on Wednesday, April 17, to share a positive message with fans with a health update. “I’ve always tried to be straight with you all and I’m not going to stop now,” the TV personality said in the short video clip. “So, despite what you may have heard, I’m feeling good. I’m continuing with my therapy and we — by we, the staff — is already working on our next season, the 36th year of Jeopardy!. So I look forward to seeing you once again in September with all kinds of good stuff.”

In the clip, the quiz show host once again thanked everyone for their “continuing messages of encouragement and support.” Fans, of course, rushed to the comments section to react. “Take care of yourself over the summer, Alex. We are all thinking of you,” one person said. Another chimed in, “Alex, it has been a great season and I hope you can enjoy your summer despite your therapies … Can’t wait for season 36 and watching you host it. Be well, stay strong!”

There have been some concerns over whether this would be the end of Alex hosting the iconic game show, as he himself pegged Ryan Seacrest as his replacement. That said, it’s nice that we’ll see the legend on at least one more season! Not only has the father-of-two received support from fans, but also from fellow game show hosts — including the face of Wheel of FortunePat Sajak.

“The Sajak family is deeply saddened to hear of Alex Trebek’s struggle with cancer,” the 72-year-old said on Twitter soon after the initial news broke. “Our hearts go out to him and his family. But there is no one I know who is stronger and more determined, and I would never bet against him. We, and the entire country, are pulling for you, Alex.”

Keep fighting, Alex!
