Bindi Irwin Is a Mom! TV Star Gives Birth to Baby No. 1 With Husband Chandler Powell

Congratulations to Bindi Irwin on becoming a mom! The beloved Australian TV star gave birth to her first child, a daughter Grace Warrior Irwin Powell, alongside her husband, Chandler Powell, on March 25, 2021. The new mama marveled over her little girl’s arrival while announcing the news on social media.

“March 25, 2021. Celebrating the two loves of my life,” Bindi, 22, wrote via Instagram on Friday, March 26. “Happy first wedding anniversary to my sweetheart husband and day of birth to our beautiful daughter. Grace Warrior Irwin Powell. Our graceful warrior is the most beautiful light.”

Bindi also revealed the meaning behind the newborn’s moniker. “Grace is named after my great-grandmother, and relatives in Chandler’s family dating back to the 1700s. Her middle names, Warrior Irwin, are a tribute to my dad and his legacy as the most incredible Wildlife Warrior,” she gushed. “Her last name is Powell and she already has such a kind soul just like her dad. There are no words to describe the infinite amount of love in our hearts for our sweet baby girl. She chose the perfect day to be born and we feel tremendously blessed.”

Bindi’s hubby, Chandler, also shared the news of their daughter’s birth. The Australian wakeboarder, 24, uploaded a cute photo of the tot, writing, “Grace Warrior Irwin Powell. After waiting for you to arrive for the last 9 months, finally meeting you has been the best moment of my life. You have a big life ahead of you and no matter what, you will be surrounded by a whole lot of love. Thank you for gracing your beautiful mother and me on our wedding anniversary, so excited to have you home.”

The Crikey! It’s the Irwins star has waited for this day to come, so it’s no surprise she’s thrilled to finally be a mom. From the very moment Bindi experienced her first pregnancy, she was so “excited about starting a family” with Chandler, whom she married in March 2020.

Prior to welcoming their first child, Bindi and Chandler were doing everything they could to prepare for parenthood. An insider told Closer Weekly the duo was “[reading] up what to expect during the pregnancy.” They also bought “a ton of books on child-rearing,” the source added.

Bindi and Chandler are “going to be amazing parents,” but they “didn’t expect” to have a child at such young ages. Still, the longtime lovebirds are “happy” about their beautiful baby girl, the insider shared, noting Bindi and Chandler aren’t the only ones excited about the new addition.

Bindi’s mom, Terri Irwin, “is over the moon,” the insider told Closer. “She’s already planning on being a doting grandma.”

The Bindi the Jungle Girl alum first announced her pregnancy in August 2020. Bindi and Chandler shared the news alongside an adorable photo of the couple posing with a baby-sized khaki Australia Zoo uniform.

“Baby Wildlife Warrior due 2021. Chandler and I are proud to announce that we’re expecting!” the daughter of late TV star Steve Irwin gushed in the caption. “We couldn’t wait to share the news as this beautiful little being has become the most important part of our lives.
