Don’t ask her about retiring because Blythe Danner‘s goal is to keep working for as long as she can! “Endure — don’t worry about fame and glory, as Chekhov said. I would love to drop dead on stage taking a bow,” the 76-year-old star exclusively told Closer Weekly at the recent AARP Movies for Grownups Awards, adding that “just to keep working is very fulfilling.”

Since the death of her husband, Bruce Paltrow, in 2002, Blythe said acting and her family keep her happy. “I never remarried, because I had such an incredible husband. I don’t have any romance in my life except my grandchildren. They fill my heart,” the star, who admitted she totally spoils her grandkids, said. “They have enough rules at home, so I try to be Auntie Mame. Not that I am that fun, but I try!”

She also believes the secret to having vitality is remaining engaged with the world. “The worst thing you can do is be sedentary and not care. It’s important to stay involved and interested,” she explained. Blythe’s daughter, Gwyneth Paltrow, appears to be taking advice from her mom because the 46-year-old entrepreneur has been enjoying every moment of life with her new husband, Brad Falchuk.

“It’s fantastic. I feel like we are probably better equipped to choose our life partner when we are halfway through life,” Gwyn previously told the Wall Street Journal. “For me, it has been more of a process, and so I feel really lucky to have met this person who is an incredible, true partner.”

Now that Gwyneth has found her true soulmate, she’s been thinking about writing a tell-all book about her life in Hollywood. “Gwyneth used to be really private but lately has become one of the most candid celebrities around. She’s becoming less and less reserved when it comes to sharing details of her personal life and assuming Gwyneth agrees to write about her upbringing and her marriages, she stands to make a fortune,” a source recently told Closer. “It’ll be an extremely juicy read!”
