Britt and Rocco’s Controversial Friendship Leaves ‘General Hospital’ Fans Divided

When General Hospital‘s Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) took teenager Rocco Falconeri (Finn Carr) out of the country, fans were up in arms. While in her mind, she was doing it to protect him, even Britt’s fans agreed she shouldn’t have listened to his pleas to skip town with her. However, when Rocco didn’t want to say goodbye to Britt when his parents found him, some fans were touched…and others were outraged.

General Hospital Fans Take Sides Over ‘Brocco’

Rocco’s parents are understandably outraged over Britt taking their son on the run with her. After all, he had technically stolen Rocco before when he was just an embryo and she implanted him in her uterus. Rocco was close to a year old when Britt admitted who “Ben’s” real parents were and returned him to Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) and Lulu (Alexa Havins), but when a teenage Rocco learned the truth last summer and Britt returned to Port Charles, he wanted to get to know the woman who had given birth to him.

Since then, Britt and Rocco have formed an odd little friendship that some fans find quaint, while it gives other fans the creeps. They have taken to social media for a heated debate on the topic that shows no signs of dying down any time soon.

“I really do LOVE the bond between Britt and Rocco!! It touches and warms my healing heart forever!!” one fan said on X.

Some don’t think the weirdness of the Britt and Rocco relationship is any more weird than other soap relationships, tweeting, “In terms of the townie peeps of Port Charles throughout the generations, the relationship btw Britt and Rocco isn’t weird. It’s pretty damn normal actually lol.”

“Crazy to think that some people enjoy this Rocco and Britt stuff because I was cringing and squirming the entire time,” another fan said, acknowledging that some really like the storyline.

One of the reasons Britt didn’t want Rocco to stay was because she feared she would die, but that doesn’t make a difference to some fans. “It doesn’t matter Britt is having second thoughts bc she doesn’t want Rocco to watch her die. There is nothing the writers can do to make her empathetic w this Rocco mess no matter how hard they try,” another X user declared.

Other fans just loved the soapiness of Britt and Rocco’s goodbye scenes, and can see both sides, with one writing, “It was soapy and well done! It was heartbreaking for Rocco & Britt who thinks it’s their final goodbye, and really heartbreaking for Lante watching just how much Rocco cares for the woman who stole their embryo. I enjoyed the drama and acting now that I’ve seen full scenes.”
