Prince Charles Says His Grandchildren ‘Wear’ Him Out, But Camilla Parker Bowles Says They ‘Adore Him’

Heir to the throne Prince Charles may have just celebrated his miletone 70th birthday, but the grandfather-of-three will always be young at heart. In fact, he’ll do just about anything to put a smile on any of his grandkid’s faces. “My grandchildren adore him,” said Charles’ wife, Camilla Parker Bowles, in the BBC documentary, Prince, Son and Heir: Charles at 70.

“[Charles] will crawl about with them for hours, making funny noises and laughing,” the Duchess of Cornwall revealed. However, it’s hard for Charles to keep up with his two eldest grandchildren, Prince George, 5, and Princess Charlotte, 3. “My grandchildren wear me out. I don’t know how you do it,” Charles recently told Amelia Kerr, 33, a new mother to a four-week-old son named Oliver, at a recent royal event, according to the Daily Express.

While Charles still has a little bit of time before seven-month-old Prince Louis is able to walk, he has his hands full with George and Charlotte. However, his son Prince William has expressed in the past that he wants his dad to slow down and spend more time with his three kids. “I would like him to have more time with the children,” William, 36, said in the documentary. “Having more time with him at home would be lovely, and being able to, you know, play around with the grandchildren. When he’s there, he’s brilliant, but we need him there as much as possible.”

Even Prince Harry agreed with his brother. The red-headed royal revealed that when they were younger, Charles would eat dinner “ridiculously late at night, and then goes to his desk later that night and will fall asleep on his notes” because he was so consumed with his work. And apparently, things haven’t changed much all these years later.

It looks like Charles is going to have to manage his time better considering he has a fourth grandchild on the way. Harry’s wife, Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle, is pregnant with the couple’s first baby and the little bundle of joy is expected to arrive in spring 2019!
