Chip and Joanna Gaines’ Son Duke Is an ‘Adventurous’ Kid! See Photos of Their Middle Child
Family first. Chip Gaines and Joanna Gaines can’t imagine what their lives would be like without their five kids, Emmie, Duke, Ella, Crew and Drake. Their children mean the world to them and they have the same entrepreneurial spirit as their parents. One thing Joanna loves about Duke is his ability to talk to people.
Since the little guy loves to help out with customer service, he and Emmie plan on running a farm truck where they can sell vegetables and eggs one day. “I always try to involve them with what we’re doing at work,” Joanna revealed to People in March 2019. “They love being here.”
Duke’s older siblings also have a hand in running their parents’ business. “Each kid has their own thing. Drake loves the production side, so in the summer he’s up with the guys, and they’re teaching him how to edit. Then Ella is like me. I think she’ll follow in my footsteps and have her hand in a lot of things. Right now she wants to cook, be a lead designer and have a donut truck,” the doting mom explained.
When he’s at home, Duke likes to snuggle up with a book and play around with his siblings. His mom has praised him for his “adventurous” spirit and his need to want to learn something new.
“I love to help them cultivate their interests. Cooking, sports, sewing, gymnastics — whatever it is, I encourage it,” the HGTV star wrote on her blog Magnolia in 2016. “I want them to know their creativity is a big deal to me.”
With the support of his parents, Duke will grow up to do so many amazing things. He already loves “building stuff” with his big brother. Sometimes, Joanna would have a hard time putting him to sleep because he and Drake would stay up late working on their next big project.
“OK fine … 10 more minutes,” Joanna captioned an adorable photo of them on Instagram. But that’s not the only time the TV personality and Chip have shared sweet moments of their kids on social media.
