General Hospital ended the week with a party at the Brown Dog bar gone wrong when Britt Westbourne threw a hissy fit in front of her colleagues and drove them out. As she tried to mull over her bad behavior and drown her sorrows, a mysterious stranger bought her a drink.
The Australian-born Traval had been recovering from a car accident when he was asked to submit an audition tape back in June, according to TV Insider. Eventually, he was called in to read with Kelly Thiebaud, who plays Britt.
“I can’t speak more highly of her,” Traval said. “I think she’s fantastic. It’s the biggest delight in my life to be working with her. Originally, it was going to be a short guest role, I believe, and at the end of the week I got a call saying they might want to offer me a contract on the show, which was a real surprise and delight. And the rest is history from there.”

This is the second new Australian actor and character to be added to the GH canvas in the last few months and to have encounters with Britt. Dean Geyerdebuted as Tristan Roberts in July and had words with Britt earlier in the evening at the Brown Dog, which set her night on a negative path.
In the end-of-episode preview, Jude can be seen telling Britt he is making her an offer just for her, so he seems to be purposefully targeting the much-maligned doctor.
While fans wait to learn more specifics about Jude, Traval is getting used to his new GH life.
“I didn’t know it was as rigorous and fast-paced as it is, and it’s a huge credit to any actor who thrives on soap opera television because it’s much more of an athletic acting experience than any other job that I’ve done,” Traval said. “You’ve got to be a marathon runner versus a great sprinter.”
