Christina Applegate’s Daughter Is Her ‘Miracle’! Learn About the Star’s Only Child Sadie

Christina Applegate has overcome plenty of challenges in her life, between surviving cancer, undergoing a double mastectomy and being diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. But nothing can take away the joy and gratitude she feels as the mom of her beloved daughter, Sadie Grace LeNoble.

The Dead to Me star shares her only child with her second husband, Martyn LeNoble. Christina and the Porno for Pyros band founder started dating following her divorce from her first spouse, Johnathon Schaech, whom she was married to from 2001 to 2007.

During the time Christina and the Dutch bassist made their relationship official in 2009, she had recently been diagnosed with cancer. Fortunately, Martyn stepped up and became “an incredible part of [her] life.”

Upon falling in love, Christina and the “She Sells Sanctuary” performer got engaged on Valentine’s Day 2010, and before they had the chance to walk down the aisle, they started their family. The Married with Children star gave birth to their daughter, Sadie, in 2011, and the lovebirds later wed in February 2013.

Christina credits her husband for being a constant support amid her struggles, but the Emmy winner said it’s Sadie who has “healed [her] in so many ways.” During an interview with People following Sadie’s birth, Christina gushed over the “miracle” of motherhood.

“You can’t explain it … she’s just made my life so much better,” the Vacation star marveled. “I’ve been sad for a long time and she’s just opened my soul.”

Reflecting on her journey to parenthood, Christina said she didn’t realize how much she was missing out on until she held her baby in her arms for the first time. “That was the piece of the puzzle that hadn’t been there, and now it’s there,” she proclaimed. “It’s a great feeling of renewal. It’s a beginning. She’s my beginning.”

In November 2022, Christina received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. In her speech, she thanked her little girl for bringing a light into her life.

“The most important person in this world is my daughter,” she said at the time. “You are so much more than even you know. You are so beautiful and kind and loving and smart and interesting.”

The Anchorman actress continued, “I’m blessed every day that I get to wake up and take you to school. You are my everything. Thank you for standing by me through all of this.”

Sadie Has Made Rare Public Appearances

Sadie made a rare public appearance accompanying her mom to the Screen Actors Guild Awards on February 26, 2023. She walked the red carpet with Christina, who admitted that the ceremony would likely be her last as a working actor due to her battle with multiple sclerosis. She was nominated for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Comedy Series for Dead to Me but lost to Hacks‘ Jean Smart.

In January 2024, Christina attended the Emmy Awards with Sadie. As she took the stage to present an award, Sadie sat in the audience supporting her mom. Two months later, Christina opened up about how her MS diagnosis affected her parenting.

“My daughter’s had to see the loss of her mom, in the way that I was a mom with her,” she told People. “Dancing with her every day. Picking her up from school every day. Working at her school, working in the library. Being present, out of the house, out of my bed. She doesn’t see those things anymore. If she comes in my room and sees I’m laying on my side, she knows she can’t ask me to do anything. And that breaks me. Because I love doing stuff for my kid. I love making her food and bringing it to her, but I just can’t sometimes. But I try. I try.”
