The death of David Cassidy just keeps getting more tragic, especially for the family he left behind. Less than one month after he died from organ failure on Tuesday, Nov. 21 — his newly-released will showed that he intentionally left nothing to daughter Katie Cassidy.

In the document obtained by The Blast, David wrote that it was his "specific intent not to provide any benefits hereunder to Katherine Evelyn Cassidy and/or any descendant [of hers]." Instead, he insisted that any reference to his "child" meant his 26-year-old son Beau Cassidy from his third marriage to Sue Shifrin. The shockingly small $150,000 estate will go to his son, and all of his memorabilia will go to his three half-siblings.

Unfortunately, David and Katie weren't close when David was alive. The actor welcomed Katie, 30, in November of 1986 with his girlfriend at the time Sherry Williams, and he has revealed in the past that he and Katie don't speak. "I’ve never had a relationship with her," David once told People. "I wasn’t her father. I was her biological father but I didn’t raise her. She has a completely different life."

However, it seemed like they had a better relationship in later years. "I’m proud of her. She’s very talented. It’s hard for me to even accept how old she is now, like 30," David once said. Katie — whose acting credits include TV shows Gossip Girl, Supernatural, Melrose Place, and Arrow — was raised by her mother and stepfather, Richard Benedon, in LA. What a shame that David won't be able to attend her upcoming wedding.

In a 2009 interview, David and Katie spoke out about their interesting relationship. "Because I didn’t raise her, I didn’t have to parent her," he said. "I’m always here and totally nonjudgmental." Katie added, "To be able to go to someone I’m genetically linked to, tell them anything and know that they’re not going to judge me — it’s unbelievable. It’s nice when your dad can be your friend." The will was drafted earlier than that, in 2004, so perhaps that was when they were less close. However, David reportedly knew he was dying for quite some time, and seemingly could have adjusted the will if he wanted to include Katie.

Though The Partridge Family star did not have any contact with his daughter prior to his passing, he was close to his son, Beau. "He’s just one of the best people you’ll ever meet in your life and it’s that that I’m proud of," he said. "He just turned 26. He’s such a beautiful person."
