50 First Dates actress Drew Barrymore is teaching her kids everything that she knows about beauty! The mom-of-two, 44, recently sat down for an interview with NewBeauty magazine and revealed that she’s trying to show her daughters that getting older is not as bad as it seems.

“I’m now determined more than ever to show my daughters that aging is a luxury,” the publication’s spring 2019 cover star gushed. “If we’re lucky, we are all going to age. I just want them to be at peace with who they are and not what they look like.”

Drew coparents her adorable daughters, Olive Kopelman, 6, and Frankie Kopelman, 4, with her ex-husband Will Kopelman. As Frankie and Olive get older, their mom wants to make sure that her kids care more about how they treat other people than their looks. “If they are good, cool people, that’s all I care about,” Drew admitted.

Since Olive started following Drew around at work, she has probably started to learn a lot of life, career and fun makeup lessons from her hardworking mom. For instance, Drew explained that she never knew how important lip liner was to her until she used it for the first time.

“At some point in your life, you will need [it]. That’s what I’ll tell my girls,” she said. “You won’t think you’ll ever need it, and then one day you’ll see that lip liner isn’t just for fun. It’s a necessity.” As the owner of Flower Beauty, Drew has learned a lot about makeup and though she likes to wear it often, she previously told Glamour that she would never get plastic surgery to permanently change her looks because she wants to set a good example for her kids.

“I feel aging is a privilege. It’s about how to do it gracefully, with humor, self-love and a respect for the process, and that’s always been really important to me,” she confessed. “Then I started having girls and I thought, thank god these were my initial instincts. Now I can carry them out in an even more deep and profound way.”
