Will We Be Saying “How You Doin'” to a ‘Friends’ Reboot? Matt LeBlanc Sets the Record Straight!
It’s the season of revivals! From Gilmore Girls to Roseanne to Will & Grace, so many of our favorite shows are returning to the small screen. However, when it comes to one of the all-time best sitcoms ever, Friends, a reboot just can’t seem to get off the ground — and according to star Matt LeBlanc, it’s not likely to.

“I don’t think that will happen,” Matt recently told TV WEEK. “I have spoken to everyone involved in the decision to come back and do Friends and I have heard all the rumors myself that you have all heard.”
The 50-year-old host of Top Gear said there has been no official word on a reboot, adding that he is also fine with leaving the series in the past. “I think Friends was about a finite period in your life, when school ends and before you sort of settle down and start having a family,” Matt said. “And that is when your friends are really a family and that is what that show was about, roughly about that ten year block in time in people’s lives.”
Matt’s not sure if a revival would even work, considering that period of their lives is now over for the cast and characters. “To go back and revisit those characters now, A) I don’t know what the story would be, and B) they have all moved on from that period on their lives and it’s just not the same,” he added.

He continued to say, “I would assume that they still keep in touch, all those characters, but it’s not the same. So it’s kind of like ‘the book is better than the movie!'” While we are devastated by this news, we can see where he is coming from. If you need us, we’ll just be busy watching Friends re-runs all day every day…
