‘General Hospital’ fans are outraged as Willow escapes consequences after shooting Drew Cain and keeping him paralyzed with a drug for months.

General Hospital’s Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) is back in action in a big way. After six months of sitting in a wheelchair, blinking all of his communications, Drew is now fully recovered.

Nina (Cynthia Watros) thought she was killing Drew when she pushed his wheelchair into the lake, but she had no idea how far he had come. Gio got Drew home, where he confronted Willow (Katelyn MacMullen). Surprisingly, after shooting Drew last fall and keeping him paralyzed since January, she walked away a free woman.

Did Willow Get Away With It All?

Drew spent much of 2025 dominating Willow. He did everything he could to run her life after she left Michael (Rory Gibson) for him following their affair, but all he managed to accomplish was to cause Willow to lose custody of her children. Feeling desperate last fall and realizing what Drew had cost her, Willow snapped and shot Drew twice in the back. She even gave such an incredible court performance that she was acquitted of the crime.

However, when Willow and Drew returned from court, Willow stabbed her new husband in the neck with a syringe containing a paralytic drug. She had kept Drew in a locked-in state ever since, but when she ran out of the drug, he recovered.

Drew was ready to turn Willow in, but Jack (Chris McKenna) and Nina rescued her at the last minute with blackmail material against Drew. That caused Willow to put on a smile and walk out of Drew’s house without a care in the world. It also led to some outraged fans.

“So Willow shoots Drew, drugs him for months and gets away free and clear w/o losing anything?” one fan asked on X. Not a Drew fan but come on. The bad guys need to pay not win. Once again GH flops the ending. Do better GH!!!

“Willow doesn’t deserve to win. She just doesn’t,” another fan concurred. “She ruined her own life and she didn’t have to shoot and paralyze Drew to get her kids back. She had lots of choices and continuously made the most insane ones possible.”

Others wonder why Jack is suddenly so protective of Nina and Willow, saying, “Very unsatisfying return of Drew. Seems like Willow and her psycho mommy got away with it. What the heck is wrong with Jack?”

As Drew tossed Willow her phone and Willow gave him a smug little smirk, the audience couldn’t believe that this story had not yet come to a close. As one fan summed it up: “Willow gets the upper hand again? Drew takes the deal. Neither faces consequences? Seriously?!”
