General Hospital has quite a summer in store, but the first thing on the agenda seems to finally be bringing down Jenz Sidwell (Carlo Rota), the delightful villain who keeps audience members laughing, but whose time might be up. Sidwell made an enemy of Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) as soon as he arrived in town, trying to take over his territory, so it makes sense that Sonny wants to be the one who fights Sidwell to the finish.

Danger and Chaos Ahead for Sonny Corinthos

According to Soap Opera Digest, the final showdown between Sidwell and Sonny is coming soon, with head writers Chris Van Etten and Elizabeth Korte telling the outlet, “Sonny and Sidwell enter a final battle with several lives on the line, Turner’s included.”

As it stands now, Sidwell is hiding out at Willow’s (Katelyn MacMullen) house, making himself a nuisance while also making threats. Sonny is trying to lure him out of hiding because he knows Sidwell only wants to avenge Marco’s (Adrian Anchondo) death. Sonny knows who killed Sidwell’s son, so Sonny feels he has all the leverage he needs to get Sidwell in front of him. With Justine (Nazneen Contractor) being Sonny’s new love interest, it’s not surprising that she will somehow get caught in the crossfire.

Will the final Sidwell confrontation be what ends things between Sonny and Justine, considering that the assistant district attorney has never really seen him in mobster action before?

However, Sidwell is not the only battle that Sonny will have to fight. With Jason’s (Steve Burton) return, he has to make sure that Ric (Rick Hearst) and Jason get along, as he is not about to betray either man or take sides. And when Sonny discovers that Carly (Laura Wright) has fallen for his other enemy, Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart), more battle lines will be drawn. Sonny wants to put that to an end immediately, so he enlists Brick to be a spoiler in Carly’s new romance.

After months on the sidelines being left out of the action, Sonny is finally back in a big way this summer.
