‘General Hospital’s’ Most Surprising Love Triangle Leaves Fans Torn

With Finola Hughes bringing Anna Devane back to General Hospital on June 24th, Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) is going to be one torn international fugitive. While Anna has been languishing in a French mental institution, Valentin has fallen for Carly Spencer (Laura Wright), a woman he barely shared scenes with over the last decade until late last year. What is Valentin going to do? And what are GH fans going to do now that there are two popular Port Charles pairs with one man in common?

‘Vanna’ vs. ‘Caradine’ Leaves GH Fans Divided

Valentin has been in love with Anna since their younger years, training to be WSB agents. Although Anna never had any interest in him, Valentin kept that torch going for years and reignited the flame just a bit when he moved to Port Charles in 2016. Until 2022, Anna and Valentin pretty much danced around their feelings for one another. Valentin had been married to Nina (Cynthia Watros) and Anna had nearly married Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton). At one point, Anna had even arrested Valentin and sent him to the Hague.

Sadly, Anna was an officer of the law who learned that Valentin was still breaking the law. She helped him grab his teenage daughter, Charlotte (Bluesy Burke), and go on the run in 2024 and that was that. Valentin wasn’t even on Anna’s mind when she was kidnapped last fall.

When Valentin escaped prison and decided to hide out in Carly’s attic, he never thought he would fall for his host. Soon, we expect Valentin to clear his name and Anna to be home, which means a full-fledged triangle is on deck and fans are left with a dilemma.

“I cannot imagine Val won’t be pulled towards Anna. I think there will be conflict. Yep. I enjoy Valentin with both ladies. I can’t lose!” one fan said on X.

Another fan is surprised at how much they enjoy Valentin and Carly after how much they loved Valentin and Anna. “I spent most of Valentin’s run on GH wanting him and Anna but I’m even more obsessed with him and Carly,” they wrote.

Others have enjoyed Valentin’s escapades with Carly while Anna has been away, but think it’s time he reverts to form. “ANNA!!!! (It was good while it lasted Carly) ..but ANNA will always be endgame for Valentin,” an X user asserts.

And finally, some fans think it might be time for Valentin to enter a new chapter, with one saying, “I feel it could be a compelling triangle for awhile but in the end I’d really like to see Valentin come to terms with finally letting Anna go as a romantic partner for good + begin a new life with Carly .. That’s my vote for how it ends anyway.”
