In the ’90s, talk shows and their hosts reigned supreme, but now, many of them have retired from the spotlight, like Jenny Jones. Remember her? Her program The Jenny Jones Show ran from 1991 to 2003, but after the show was canceled, she never appeared on TV again. So what has she been doing since then? Surprisingly, she’s been quite busy. Check out the video below to see where she is now!

Although Jenny’s show was outrageous, fun, and tongue-in-cheek, one of its biggest moments was shrouded in tragedy. While filming an episode about “same-sex secret crushes,” Scott Amedure, a gay man, confessed to an associate, Jonathan Schmitz, that he had a crush on him. Three days after the taping of the show, Jonathan killed Scott out of anger that the show “ambushed” and embarrassed him. He was convicted and sent to prison. The episode never aired on TV, but you can sometimes find clips scattered across the internet. After the incident, Scott’s family sued the show for not looking into Jonathan’s history of mental illness, however, a judge overturned the suit saying the show wasn’t responsible for what happened to guests after the show.

Back in 1999 when Jenny was asked about her opinion on the incident, she told People, “It was not the ‘Jenny Jones murder.’ It was the Jonathan Schmitz murder.” She also addressed the event again in her 1997 memoir, Jenny Jones: My Story, writing that Jonathan was “truly, truly not ambushed. We are definitely not to blame for the murder.” As for Jonathan, he was released on bail in August 2017. Despite the controversy, Jenny’s show ran successfully for eight more years. Jenny posted on Facebook a few years ago that she has no desire to return to television today.
