Just a few weeks after announcing his breakup, Jonathan Scott is doing well. The Property Brothers star previously split from longtime girlfriend Jacinta Kuznetsov after two years of dating, and his twin brother, Drew Scott, has assured fans he’s happy today.
“Jonathan is great,” Drew told People on Thursday, April 19, opening up about his brother’s split for the first time. “We’re always supporting each other. And at the end of the day, for us, the biggest thing is family.” He further explained that the two had “an amicable split,” adding, “In reality, they weren’t together that long, and so the main thing there is he’s a great guy… He’s great.”

Back on April 6, Jonathan took to Instagram to announce that he and Jacinta had ended their relationship in a heartfelt post. “When I met Jacinta in the fall of 2015, I met somebody kind and courageous and a champion for human/animal rights,” the 39-year-old wrote. “We grew to respect each other fiercely and know that will remain unchanged for the rest of our lives. Sometimes life takes you on unexpected paths and those paths aren’t always in the same direction. There’s no drama or negativity; no jealousy or hate. Not even sadness or sorrow. Our memories are filled with joy and we will continue to advocate for each other as friends wherever we go.”
Jacinta works as the development producer at the production company that Jonathan owns with his brother, Scott Brothers Entertainment, and she also took to Instagram to announce the split. She explained that even though they have broken up, they will still continue to be friends and work together. “We have deep love and respect for one another but have gone separate ways,” she wrote. “We will continue to be apart of each others lives as friends, and never stop planning what greatness we can create in this world.”
Jonathan previously married his first wife, Kelsey, in 2007, just months after they met. However, their marriage wasn’t meant to last because they divorced two years later. It seemed like after Jonathan’s first failed marriage, he wasn’t ready to rush into a second one with Jacinta and the couple had not planned on getting married, even though wedding fever was in the air since Drew is set to walk down the aisle next month.
