Keith Urban’s Father, Robert Urban, Has Died

Keith Urban is sadly mourning the loss of his father, Robert Urban.

Just days after the country star, 48, revealed his father had been placed in hospice care with just a few weeks to live, Nicole Kidman's husband announced his father's passing on Saturday, Dec. 5.

"I've been deeply touched by the outpouring of love and support that [Nicole] and I, and our family, have received since my Dad’s passing on Saturday night," the singer told People. "His long battle with cancer is now over and he is finally at peace. My dad's love of country music and America set me on my life's journey, and shaped so much of who I am today."

"Thank you to everyone who has kept us all in your thoughts and prayers," he added.

Nicole, also 48, suddenly lost her father, Dr. Anthony Kidman, at age 76 last year after he suffered a fall in Singapore while reportedly visiting Nicole's sister, Antonia, and her six children.

“They have truly been there for each other through thick and thin,” a friend of Keith’s previously told Closer of the couple. “They have one of the most harmonious relationships in show business.”
