Kevin Bacon Refuses to Reveal the Secret to His 30-Year Marriage to Kyra Sedgwick

But what’s the key to it all? Kevin Bacon and his wife, Kyra Sedgwick, recently celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary, but don’t ask the Footloose star to tell you the secret to a long-lasting marriage because he won’t tell you a single thing.

“There is no secret,” the 60-year-old told Fox News during the Showtime portion of the Television Critics Association Winter Press Tour in Los Angeles on Thursday, January 31. He continued, “In fact, I’ve often had a couple of different one-liners for that answer, and then I decided that really the answer is I’m not going to answer it because the last thing I want to do is come up with some quote that is going to summarize a 30-year relationship you know?”

He added, “It’s disrespectful to the relationship. So I don’t really know.” If we’re going to take a stab at what the secret is, perhaps it’s all about cutting loose and having some fun. “We love to dance, and if we have our own party behind closed doors, we will dance all night,” the Mystic River costar once exclusively told Closer Weekly at a SAG-AFTRA Foundation Q&A with Kyra, 53, in New York City.

“But if we actually go out dancing, the DJ always puts on Footloose, and people form a circle around me, clapping in unison, expecting me to perform tricks like a trained seal. So I tend to avoid it,” Kevin confessed. Well, so much for asking him to recreate all of our favorite scenes from the movie.

At the time, the actor was still not budging on his “don’t reveal any secrets” stance, but he did say this: “There are a few things you don’t want to do if you want a long marriage. One is to leave the toilet seat up, and another is to say, ‘I told you so.'” We will keep that in mind, Kev!
