Martha Stewart Is ‘Not Holding Herself Back’ From Dating ‘Younger’ Men: ‘She Is Exploring’

Martha Stewart has been open about her desire to date younger guys, and she’s making that dream a reality by asking her friends and contacts to line her up with plenty of hot options, an insider exclusively tells Closer.

“Martha looks and feels a good 30 years younger than she is, she’s very healthy and has put a lot of effort into her appearance,” the insider says. “She’s also got confidence by the truckload so, while a lot of women her age would be too insecure to strip off with a young buck, Martha has no qualms about it because she’s still perfectly happy with her body.”

When it comes to finding a partner, there are several traits Martha, 83, looks for other than just physical attraction.

“Conversation is also important to Martha, she wants someone quick-witted that can keep her entertained when they’re not in bed, she’s very clear about that,” the insider says. “She looks at someone like Madonna, who’s not afraid to have boyfriends half her age, or less, and gets inspired.”

But the source said fans should not expect to see Martha out in public with her dating prospects for all to see.

“She’s likely not going to flaunt them around town, but she is exploring her cougar side,” the source adds. “She figures life is all about experiences. Successful men have never had a problem dating women much younger than them, so she sees no reason to hold herself back.”

The lifestyle expert was previously married to Andrew Stewart from 1961 to 1990. The former couple welcomed one child together, daughter Alexis Stewart, in 1965. They are grandparents to Alexis’ two kids, Jude Stewart, 13, and Truman Stewart, 12.

Martha, who was featured on the cover of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue in 2023, revealed that she had a few potential suitors reach out to her after the photo shoot.

“I’ve gotten a few inquiries. Just a couple,” Martha told Entertainment Tonight about her dating prospects in May 2023 after baring it all in the swimsuit photos.

The following year, the television personality opened up about wanting to be with someone who was driven.

“I don’t care so much about how you’re feeling. I care about what you’re doing — and it’s always been like that,” Martha said during a November 2024 appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show. “I always care about what are people doing with themselves.”

She went on to say that being with an “idle” man doesn’t “interest” her.

Martha also addressed the topic of romantic relationships in her 2024 documentary titled Martha. She was asked if she had ever had “relationships where you talk about your feelings.”

“No, and that’s probably why I haven’t had very many personal relationships with men, for example,” she told the camera. “Because I couldn’t care less. I don’t know what the real reason is.”

Martha particularly referenced her past relationship with ex Charles Simonyi.

“It doesn’t interest me so much to know ‘Oh, Charles, how do you feel this second?’ I don’t care actually. I do care about ‘Charles what are you doing, what are you thinking about?’ So I sort of gravitate towards people who are doing things all the time,” the New Jersey native confessed. “And I think more about everything that I’m doing, the things that I’m working on, things that I’d like to work on, things that I’d like to accomplish. That’s where I’m best.”
