Meg Ryan Is Reportedly “Desperate” To Make Her TV Comeback With A Guest Role On ‘Big Little Lies’
Will Meg Ryan be the next lady to join Reese Witherspoon, Nicole Kidman, and Laura Dern in Monterey, CA on Big Little Lies? According to a new report, the 56-year-old actress is ready to make her TV comeback and would love to land a guest role on the hit HBO series.
“Meg has known Reese Witherspoon for years and is a huge fan of her work,” a source close to the actress revealed to Life & Style in the magazine’s latest issue, on newsstands now. “Meg loves everything that Big Little Lies represents and is desperate to be a part of it.”

“There’s a part of Meg that wants to venture out and do something darker. And Big Little Lies is right up her alley,” the insider said, adding that Meg “is dying to share the screen” with Laura, Reese, and Nicole.
Though Meg was Hollywood’s “It Girl” of the 90s — starring in movies like Sleepless in Seattle and You’ve Got Mail, just to name two of our favorites! — she’s taken a major step back from the spotlight in recent years. In June, the mom-of-two candidly spoke out about her acting hiatus during a sit-down with fellow star Gwyneth Paltrow at an “In Goop Health” event.

“I didn’t really aim to be an actor,” Meg told Gwyneth, according to E! News. “I was a journalism major at school, and a curious person, and I wanted to go back out into the world and figure out who I was — am — in relationship to other things and other people and other environments.” She further explained that she was being, “very reactive instead of proactive” before she decided to take a step back from showbiz.
“The whole idea of being a famous person… I felt like a witness to. I didn’t feel exactly in it, and I think that was a really good thing. I felt like a student of it in a way, or that I was watching it in an anthropological way,” Meg added. If Meg does make her TV comeback, we’d love to see her on Big Little Lies — keeping our fingers crossed!
