Obviously, Michelle Obama has spent her fair share of time living at the White House, and she’s also visited Buckingham Palace throughout the years. So there’s no one better to ask which place of residence is superior! The former First Lady made an appearance at Klick Health’s MUSE event in NYC on Tuesday, Feb. 27, and she revealed the answer to the most pressing question of all — which famous home has the better food? “Oh, the White House, without a doubt,” she shared during a panel discussion. “I don’t want to insult anybody, but American food is just better.”

Former president Barack Obama previously gushed about the sweets in the White House, stating that both his and Michelle’s cravings were always satisfied. “The pastry chef here makes the best pie I’ve ever tasted, and that is causing big problems for Michelle and myself,” he once told the Associated Press. “Whatever pie you like, he will make it and it will be the best pie you’ve ever eaten. And so we are trying to figure out how to resist ordering pie every night.”

Although the mother of Malia and Sasha may think 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue has the better food, the Queen of England‘s place of residence is far superior in flatware. “When we were served at the state dinner — you know how we have chargers and they’re gold, so you sit down, and everything is gold,” the 54-year-old explained. “The plate that I thought was the charger, that was the plate. They put food on the gold charger because that was their plate. I said, ‘You win. You win on the plates. You got us beat.’ Their rose garden? Much bigger.”

Michelle recently released new details about her upcoming memoir, Becoming, and we can’t help but wonder if there will be more juicy details from her time in the White House in it. “Writing Becoming has been a deeply personal experience. It has allowed me, for the very first time, the space to honestly reflect on the unexpected trajectory of my life,” she wrote on Instagram.

“In this book, I talk about my roots and how a little girl from the South Side of Chicago found her voice and developed the strength to use it to empower others. I hope my journey inspires readers to find the courage to become whoever they aspire to be. I can’t wait to share my story,” she continued. We can’t wait to read it!
