Former First Lady Michelle Obama just released new details about her first memoir — and we seriously can’t wait to read the book! Michelle took to Instagram on Sunday, Feb. 25 to share an update about her book, Becoming, which will be released on Tuesday, Nov. 13. Described as “a work of deep reflection and mesmerizing storytelling,” the memoir will take readers on a journey from her childhood in Chicago to becoming First Lady.

“Writing Becoming has been a deeply personal experience. It has allowed me, for the very first time, the space to honestly reflect on the unexpected trajectory of my life. In this book, I talk about my roots and how a little girl from the South Side of Chicago found her voice and developed the strength to use it to empower others. I hope my journey inspires readers to find the courage to become whoever they aspire to be. I can’t wait to share my story,” she wrote on Instagram.
The book, published by Penguin Random House, will be available in 24 languages, and we can expect Michelle to embark on an international book tour later in the year. Penguin Random House plans to donate one million copies to First Book and Open eBooks, charities which promote equal access to education through book donations.
Interestingly, Becoming isn’t Michelle’s first book. In 2012, the mom-of-two published American Grown: The Story of the White House Kitchen Garden and Gardens Across America. Her husband, President Barack Obama, is also expected to soon write a memoir about his time in the White House, but no further details on his book project have been released at this time.
