She is currently battling breast cancer for a third time, and Olivia Newton-John reveals that her fight with the disease has change her perception of death.

“When you have a cancer diagnosis it changes things. We all know we’re going to die one day,” the 70-year-old told The Herald Sun. “We don’t like to think about it, but one day we all will.”

She continued, “When you have a cancer diagnosis it just makes it more obvious that it could happen and it makes you much more aware of the present and that every day is a gift and that’s how I live.” The Grease star also confirmed to the outlet that she won’t be working anytime soon, taking this time off to heal and continue to raise funds for her Cancer and Wellness center.

Back in May 2017, the actress shared with the world she was diagnosed with breast cancer again, this after she hid her second bout from the world in order to avoid “speculation.” She told Today on March 8, “I just decided I wanted to go through it myself. And I did a lot of natural healing and a lot of herbs that my husband [John Easterling] made for me.”

Recently, the “Physical” singer once again pointed to John, 70, as well as her daughter, Chloe Rose Lattanzi, for helping her keep her hopes high. “Of course, I had my moments, and my tears and all that, but I have a wonderful husband who supports me through those things,” she told People. “I’m feeling good, just getting stronger.”

That’s exactly what Olivia has been doing, getting more strength. “I believe I will win over it, and that’s my goal,” the Australian icon once said of her battle, also once writing on Instagram that her dream is “to see an end to cancer in my lifetime.”

It is so inspiring to see Olivia continuing to not only fight her own battle with cancer, but helping others with theirs.
