We Sadly Didn’t Get First Day Of School Photos Of George And Charlotte This Year — Here’s Why!

If you’re sitting around patiently waiting to see new back to school photos of Prince George and Princess Charlotte, you’re sadly in for a major letdown this year. Though Kate Middleton and Prince William treated the public to pics of George, 5, and Charlotte, 3, to adorable school pics in the past, the royal couple reportedly decided not to release new snapshots this year to protect their kids’ privacy. 

According to People, Charlotte returned for another year of preschool at London’s Willcocks Nursery School on Wednesday, Sept. 5 while her big brother, George, began first grade at St Thomas’s Battersea on Thursday, Sept. 6. Insiders told the magazine that Kate, 36, and William, also 36, chose not to reveal any 2018 first day of school pics of their two oldest children because “the couple has always made a point of treating school as a private area, so that George and Charlotte can grow up in as pressure-free an atmosphere as possible.”

Hello! magazine’s royal correspondent Emily Nash further explained, “Prince George’s time at school is private and although the Duke and Duchess shared an image from his first day at primary school last year, they won’t do it every year.”

Though we would have loved to see more snapshots of George in his cuter than cute school uniform, royal fans will get another glimpse at the Cambridge siblings soon. Next month, George and Charlotte are both expected to serve as a page boy and bridesmaid, respectively, in Princess Eugenie’s royal wedding to Jack Brooksbank on Oct. 12. Eugenie is set to tie the knot at Windsor Castle, the same location Prince Harry and Meghan Markle married in May. Best of luck at school this year, George and Charlotte!
