Roseanne Barr is opening up about her health and why she has no plans to follow her doctor’s most recent warning about her heart.
On the Friday, March 27 episode of her Roseanne Barr podcast, the 73-year-old actress revealed that a doctor recently told her she has a “damaged” heart.
Barr admitted she was left “pissed” after being urged to “go get my heart checked out because it’s damaged.”
However, she said she has no plans to seek further medical care.

“He’s always sending me to other doctors to check me out, and I’m like, why do I have to go find something wrong when nothing’s wrong? And then get in shape so I can have surgery and die on the surgery [table]. I mean, it doesn’t make any sense,” she said.
Barr — who revealed to Fox News Digital in 2025 that she suffered an injury while mowing her lawn — said she has no interest in undergoing surgery again.
“I would rather not get ready for any sort of surgery ever again in my life and just get a heart attack or a stroke and just be put into a home,” she explained. “That is the life. Living in the hospice. … That’s all I want. You’re dying and they give you morphine.”
Barr is best known as the former lead of the ABC sitcom Roseanne, which aired from 1988 to 1997. Barr came under fire in 2018, when ABC canceled a revival series of Rosanne after a racist tweet Barr made about former Obama White House advisor Valerie Jarrett went viral.
