Nearly one year after suffering debilitating injuries in a car crash, Tracy Morgan continues to speak out about how his family has helped him recover.
But in a new interview, the 46-year-old actor revealed his youngest child, 23-month-old daughter Maven, was once "afraid" to approach him while he was wheelchair-bound.
“[Maven] was a baby when I first came home from the hospital, so she was scared of the wheelchair. She wouldn’t come over to me… I took that personally," Tracy said.

Nearly one year ago, Tracy suffered a broken leg, nose and ribs in addition to a traumatic brain injury when a Walmart truck slammed into a limo van carrying the star and his friends — one of which, James McNair, was killed during the crash — on the New Jersey Turnpike in June 2014.

Thankfully, the 30 Rock star's fiancée, Megan Wollover, 28, and his sons, Gitrid, 22, Malcolm, 26, and Tracy Jr., 27 — from his previous marriage to Sabina Morgan — were on hand to help him recover from the accident.

“[They] guided me and said, ‘No, she’s a baby and she’ll come around.' She was young. I was in a wheelchair every day. [But] my fiancée and my son, they wouldn’t let me just lie down.”
Now, Maven — whose first word was "Dada!" — couldn't be more affectionate toward her famous father, Tracy added.
“I would ask her, ‘Do you know I’m your dad?’ She knows that now and that’s what’s important to me. It’s Dada. She loves her daddy and she knows who her daddy is," Tracy told People.
