Two Beloved ‘Dancing With the Stars’ Pros Are Reuniting After More Than 15 Years
Former ‘DWTS’ pros Kym Johnson-Herjavec and Tristan MacManus are reuniting after 15 years for a good cause.
Dancing with the Stars fans are learning about a project involving two former pros that they likely never dreamed they could see happen. Two-time Mirrorball winner Kym Johnson-Herjavec and fellow former DWTS pro Tristan MacManus are performing together during an upcoming tour.
Johnson-Herjavec revealed the news in an Instagram post, and fans immediately went wild. She teased, “We’re coming out of retirement for @burnthefloorofficial!”
The video that the Dancing with the Stars alum shared showed her rehearsing on stage with MacManus. In the caption, she admitted, “The thing I miss about dancing is the rehearsals!”
In addition, Johnson-Herjavec revealed that she and MacManus had not danced together in more than 15 years. Given how incredible the two looked while rehearsing, it seems unlikely that anybody would ever guess it had been that long.
“I used to love watching you both dance together as pros on DWTS. I love this reunion,” raved one fan on Johnson-Herjavec’s post.
A fan on Facebook reacting to the reunion revelation added, “Oh Kym! How exciting and we hope you are having a great time performing again. You have been missed by your DWTS followers.”
Another Facebook user commented, “How exciting! Love Tristan! He was always one of my faves!”
On August 10, the Instagram page for Burn the Floor promoted a charity gala taking place on Saturday, September 26 at the Coliseum Theatre in Sydney, Australia. The post noted that MacManus and Johnson-Herjavec will host the event, which is described as “an unforgettable evening where world-class dance meets a meaningful cause.”
While Johnson-Herjavec has popped up within the Dancing with the Stars world here and there since the last season she competed, that hasn’t been the case with MacManus. As fans may remember, he was a troupe member in Season 12, and he then competed with celebrity partners in Seasons 13 through 17.
MacManus never won a Mirrorball Trophy, but Dancing with the Stars fans still remember him fondly and miss him. While he was a show pro, he competed with celebrities Nancy Grace, Gladys Knight, Pamela Anderson, Dorothy Hamill, and the late Valerie Harper.
Unfortunately, Johnson-Herjavec and MacManus aren’t rehearsing for a return to the Dancing with the Stars stage, at least not right now. Despite that, fans are excited to see the two together and hope to see highlights after the gala.
