Wishing him a speedy recovery! Wheel of Fortune host Pat Sajak had to undergo emergency surgery on November 7, so Vanna White has taken over the star’s hosting duties in his absence. Luckily, all went well and Sajak is expected to be OK.

The news about his health was shared via Twitter on Friday, November 8. “Our taping on Thursday was canceled because Pat Sajak underwent successful emergency surgery to correct a blocked intestine,” the message read.

“He is resting comfortably and looking forward to getting back to work. Taping resumed today as scheduled and Vanna White has stepped in as host.”

After hearing about his recent trip to the hospital, several fans showed support. “Get well soon! And good to see Vanna fill in. It’ll be like when she did the video games in the past,” one commented. “Get well soon @patsajak. Has to be odd without Pat there, but I’m sure @TheVannaWhite did an excellent job,” another added. “How scary! Rest up Pat,” a third chimed in.

Sajak, 73, has been a regular fixture on the hit game show, having hosted Wheel of Fortune since 1982. Earlier this year, he was awarded the Guinness World Record for the “Longest Career as a Game Show Host of the Same Show,” which is no small feat. The TV personality even gave a special shout-out to White, 62, during his acceptance speech.

“Thank you very much!” he gushed about his cohost on May 8. “I couldn’t have done it without you, kid.”

White also shared the same sentiments about Sajak while chatting exclusively with Closer about their bond. “People at home see the chemistry between Pat and me,” she said. “We are like brother and sister, and I think that is what makes it work.”

“We get along so well and are really best friends. We always have been,” she continued. “I can’t imagine being up there with someone else.”

The star even admitted that she and Sajak have only had one argument in 36 years and “that was over putting ketchup on a hotdog.”

Luckily, we haven’t seen the last of them yet as they both have renewed their contracts to 2022.
