Ahead of the royal christening this morning, Clarence House, the official site for the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, released new details about the christening including who would serve as godparents, what the little prince would wear, and what would take place inside the Chapel Royal at St. James’s Palace.

The ceremony, which took place at 3 pm London time, 10 am ET, was attended by the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh, Prince Charles and wife Camilla, Prince Harry sans girlfriend Cressida Bonas, and Mr. and Mrs. Middleton along with their children James and Pippa.

Clarence House also announced who the godparents to Prince George will be, and only one of the duo’s relatives has been chosen.

William’s cousin Zara Tindall will serve as a godparent as well as three friends of the couple, Mrs. Emilia Jardine-Paterson, Oliver Baker and William van Cutsem.

The five other godparents are made up of William’s former private secretary Jamie Lowther-Pinkerton, who now works part-time for the couple, the 22-year-old Hugh Grosvenor, whose father is the Duke of Westminster, and a close friend of William’s late mother Diana, Julia Samuel. The addition of Mrs. Samuel is widely seen as a way to honor Diana’s memory at the christening.

Pictures show that Prince George is wearing the hand-made replica of the Royal Christening Robe, first worn in 2008 by Viscount James, as the original has suffered too much wear and tear after 172 years.

What will be used from Queen Victoria’s daughter’s christening back in 1841 is the lily font which holds water taken from the River Jordan.

And following the intimate ceremony, Prince Charles and Camilla will host a private tea at Clarence House where guests will be served slices from a tier of the Duke and Duchess’s wedding cake.

The pictures that have been released thus far show the Duke and Duchess looking extremely happy as William holds George. The third in line to the throne looks a little less comfortable but there’s no sign of tears yet!
