Zara Tindall Reveals She Suffered Two Miscarriages Before Welcoming Second Royal Baby Lena

Just more than one month after Zara Tindall gave birth to her second baby, Queen Elizabeth’s granddaughter has sadly revealed she suffered not one, but two miscarriages before welcoming little Lena into the royal family. 

Zara, 37, and her husband, Mike Tindall, 39, previously revealed in December 2016 that they had their first miscarriage. “Very sadly, Zara and Mike Tindall have lost their baby. At this difficult time, we ask that everyone respects their privacy,” the couple’s spokesperson said at the time. One month earlier, Zara had announced in November 2016 that she and Mike were expecting their second baby. 

In a new interview with The Sunday Times Magazine, Zara said “loads of people” wrote to her and Mike to say “they’d been through the same thing.” She continued, “In our case, it was something that was really rare. It was nature saying, ‘This one’s not right.’ For me, the worst bit was that we had to tell everyone — everyone knew.”

“I had to go through having the baby because it was so far along. I then had another miscarriage really early on,” Princess Anne‘s daughter revealed before praising her “concerned” husband, Mike, and “protective” older brother, Peter Phillips. “It was a time when my family came to the fore and I needed them,” she added. 

Today, Zara and Mike are now the happy parents to two adorable daughters, Mia Grace — who was born in January 2014 — and Lena Elizabeth. Baby Lena is the newest addition to the British royal family and arrived just weeks after her cousin, Prince Louis, joined Prince William and Kate Middleton‘s brood. 

Now we’re just patiently waiting for newlyweds Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to have a royal baby — we can’t wait!
