All The New Faces You’ll See on ‘General Hospital’ This Summer

General Hospital has been awash with casting news for months, with a summer on tap that’s just getting started. With all the returns, reunions, and newcomers popping up in Port Charles, it may be hard to keep track of who you’ll see next. Fans have already seen Steve Burton and Finola Hughes return from their extended breaks as Jason and Anna, respectively, but who else does GH have in store?
A GH Casting News Score Card
Soap opera newcomer Dean Geyer, best known for playing Brody Weston on Glee, per IMDb, made his GH debut on July 13 as the doctor who escorted Jason back to town after his stint at a WSB black site in Jakarta. Dr. Tristan Roberts has already sparred with Britt, so it looks like he may be her new love interest. If she manages to get her job back at the hospital, they will certainly come into contact.
Soap alum Kelly Kruger, best known for playing Mackenzie on The Young and the Restless, takes over the role of legacy character Serena Baldwin on July 30th. Serena has not been seen in Port Charles since 2017, when Carly Schroeder returned for Lee Baldwin’s funeral. Schroeder had played Serena as a child in the 1990s. The biological daughter of Scott (Kin Shriner) and Dominique (Shell Danielson), Serena was raised by Scott and her surrogate mom, Lucy Coe (Lynn Herring).
The end of July will also bring the arrival of Troy Lennon Appel as a mysterious businessman named Hudson (no last name yet). Head writers Elizabeth Korte and Chris Van Etten told Soap Opera Digest: “Hudson is hot on the trail of a certain Port Charles resident, and nothing and no one will stop him from getting what he wants.”
Kayden Brenna Tokarski arrives on the PC scene as a teenage Scout, a victim of Soap Opera Rapid Aging Syndrome (SORAS). With Drew to come out of his locked-in state soon, a teenage daughter will give him a run for his money. “A more mature Scout will hit the canvas bearing her mother’s grit, her father’s cunning, and a mind all her own,” the head writers said in their Digest interview.
GH fans met Grady Eldridge as music producer Simon on the July 15 episode when Trina (Tabyana Ali) and Gio (Giovanni Mazza) finally performed their audition showcase. According to IMDb, Eldridge’s acting credits include Hacks, Office Romance, and The Sex Lives of College Girls.
That sounds like some big changes for a soap that just celebrated 16,000 episodes on July 13 and we can’t wait to see what these characters have in store.
