Bradley Cooper’s Debut Performance in Broadway’s ‘The Elephant Man’ Receives Rave Reviews
It seems congratulations are in order for Bradley Cooper!
The actor, 39, has received rave reviews for his Broadway debut in The Elephant Man, in which he portrays a 19th century Englishman whose physical deformities are thought to resemble features of an elephant.
New York City's Booth Theater was reportedly packed for the star's first performance in the popular show — which also stars 'The Green Mile' actress Patricia Clarkson and 'American Hustle' actor Alessandro Nivola — on Sunday, Dec. 7.
Later that evening, critics began singing their praise for the actor's portrayal of main character Joseph Merrick. "It’s a stunning performance, deeply felt and very moving," Marliyn Stasio wrote of the actor in her 'Variety' review.

In a recent interview Bradley described his happiness with starring on Broadway in 'The Elephant Man.' "I feel very into the ground, very connected to everybody in the theater. It doesn’t feel like I’m somewhere else. I feel it’s very present," he told 'Deadline.'
This isn't the first time the 'Silver Linings Playbook' actor has appeared on Broadway — he starred alongside Julia Roberts and Paul Rudd in 2006's 'Three Days of Rain,' and was cast in a 2008 production of 'The Understudy.'
'The Elephant Man' will run at NYC's Booth Theater until February 15, 2015.
