Bridget Moynahan to Receive Special Honor After Ending ‘Blue Bloods’: ‘Deeply Humbling’

Blue Bloods’ Bridget Moynahan is reflecting on her life and career amid her latest honor! It was announced that the actress would be the recipient of the 2025 John F. Kennedy National Award by the St. Patrick’s Committee of Holyoke.

“Growing up in an Irish family has shaped my values of resilience, family, and community — qualities I see celebrated so beautifully in the Holyoke St. Patrick’s Parade,” she said of the honor, per WWLP. “To be honored with the JFK Award is deeply humbling, as it represents not only a connection to my heritage but also a legacy of pride. I am grateful to the committee for this incredible recognition and proud to stand with those who celebrate Irish culture and history so vibrantly.”

The outlet reported that the Global Citizens ambassador will be honored at the JFK Awards Dinner during the week of Saint Patrick’s Day. The news came after Bridget’s next project after wrapping Blue Bloods was revealed.

The Sex and the City alum will appear in the film California Skate, an indie movie set in the 1970s at a roller rink. Bridget, 53, will costar alongside Brooke Shields, Jay Mohr, Henry Winkler and Monique Coleman in the film. She also serves as a producer on the film.

The movie “follows a group of teenagers navigating first loves, forging new friendships, and embracing the exhilarating journey of coming-of-age during a life-altering night,” per IMDb.

Though Blue Bloods wrapped its run on CBS after 14 seasons in December 2024, Bridget felt like the show could have went on for more seasons.

“I definitely think it could go on longer,” she told Parade in February 2024. “We’ve been so blessed to be able to tell stories of the police, detectives and the law from the perspective of people who actually take on those selfless roles and tell it across that dinner table from a family that is so rooted in morals and values.”

“I really think we’re going to miss that as a society because there’s a lot of energy questioning all those things,” she explained. “There’s going to be a void, and I think it’s a shame we’re removing such a true, honest voice from the air.”

In the show’s finale, Bridget’s character, Erin Reagan, revealed that she was going to remarry her ex-husband, Jack Boyle. They appeared together at the show’s final family dinner but chose not to share the news with her family at the time. Instead, it was Jamie Reagan and Eddie Janko-Reagan who stole the show with their big news that they were expecting their first baby.

During the interview, Bridget also revealed her plans for after Blue Bloods.

“I think until my son [Jack, 17, with ex Tom Brady] graduates from high school, I’m not going anywhere,” she said of raising her son. “So I have high hopes that I’ll be working here. I was able to produce a great little short film in October called Swipe NYC. It stars Lisa Edelstein and it went to a lot of film festivals. I’m trying to stay on track with that and keep looking at things to produce and direct. That’s interesting and challenging to me.”
