Brooke Shields Says Hollywood Gets One Thing Wrong About Women

Brooke Shields, 61, isn’t afraid to look a little silly. In fact, she recently revealed that she essentially insists on it.

Shields shared that insightful tidbit about herself in a recent video clip related to her latest project, Acorn TV’s You’re Killing Me.

On July 26, Acorn TV shared a short video clip via its social media pages. The caption of the post read, “Who said being messy isn’t charming? Brooke Shields shares why breaking the mold mattered in #YoureKillingMe.”

Shields explained, “They just want you to fit into a box. There’s this fear that if you make me less than perfect, I’m not appealing. They’re afraid to make me look silly, or stupid, or messy. ”

The entertainer feels that the reality is just the opposite. Rather than making her unlikable, Shields believes that showing her as messy or silly makes her more likeable.

“The more fallible I am, the more messy I am, the more f***** up I am, that is what is endearing and relatable.”

Fans seem to agree. Several fans online pointed out that Shields has shown her comedic side in roles before, with great success. Some fans online pointed out that Shields’ work in the comedy Suddenly Susan, which aired from 1996 to 2000, was a perfect example.

Before starring on You’re Killing Me, which has been renewed for Season 2, Shields returned to Hallmark’s When Calls the Heart for a handful of episodes. Fans love her versatility and appreciate her insistence on making her characters real.
