Wait, Chris Messina, is that you?! The 44-year-old actor majorly turned heads when he hit the red carpet at the 2019 Golden Globes on Sunday, Jan. 6 sporting bleach blond hair. Since Chris’ newly lightened locks are such a departure from his usual dark-haired look, people, frankly,  couldn’t handle his transformation and voiced their opinions of the Sharp Objects star’s blond hair via Twitter.

“Why is Chris Messina blond, I don’t want this, how can you delete a picture from your brain,” one person lamented. Another person similarly tweeted, “Y’all can keep blonde Chris Messina.” However, lots of others loved Chris’ new ‘do. “Imma need a minute alone with this photo of blond Chris Messina,” Twitter user @kpfallon wrote.

“Blond Chris Messina is my future husband. #GoldenGlobes,” another person tweeted with one more chiming in with, “Chris Messina setting the handsome bar high, damn #GoldenGlobes.”

According to Us Weekly, Chris’ bold new look is thanks to an upcoming movie role. The actor is gearing up to play villain Victor Zsaszin in the DC superhero flick Bird of Prey which is set to hit theaters in February 2020.

Chris attended this year’s Golden Globes because his latest TV show, Sharp Objects — which aired on HBO this past summer — was nominated for the night’s Best Television Limited Series or Made for Television Movie award. The actor portrayed Detective Richard Willis on the eight-episode series alongside Amy Adams and Patricia Clarkson. Though Sharp Objects ultimately lost to The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story, Chris’ co-star Patricia did take home the Best Supporting Actress in a Series, Miniseries, or Motion Picture Made for Television honor for playing Adora Crellin in the psychological thriller.
