‘Dancing With the Stars’ Pro Peta Murgatroyd Admits She’ll Be ‘Upset’ If Son Shai, 2, Can’t Dance

While some Hollywood parents hope their kids don’t follow in their footsteps, Dancing With the Stars‘ Peta Murgatroyd recently revealed that she and husband Maksim Chmerkovskiy want their 2-year-old son, Shai, to be a dancer just like them. Ahead of Valentine’s Day, the Faith, Love & Hope star gushed to Us Weekly about their adorable toddler showing interest in their passions.

“He loves music,” the 32-year-old told the outlet. “He’s obsessed with Pitbull and Dua Lipa, so we have constant dance parties throughout the day with him. I think we would be upset if he was uncoordinated with us being his parents.”

As Shai continues to embrace his dancing genes, the brunette beauty revealed she and her hubby, 39, are open to expanding their little family. “We would love more kids soon,” Peta admitted. “We’re not actively trying, but if it happens, that would be amazing. I’m not saying no to anything right now. I would love to give him a sibling sort of close in age.”

Even though they’re not currently suffering from a severe case of baby fever, the professional dancer did reveal that Maksim is hoping for a baby girl next. “He’s like, ‘You’ve got yours and now I want mine,'” Peta joked, adding that Shai is “all about” his mama and “it’s so funny.”

But before they add another little one to their family, New Zealand native admitted she’s still trying to navigate her new life as a first-time mom. “I feel like you just can’t do everything right by everybody, and I’ve realized that and have sort of come to terms with that,” Peta said of trying to please everyone. “I’m not gonna say I’m the perfect mom or I’m a perfect wife … [but you] just can’t listen to that crap. It will overwhelm you if you do read all those comments.”

Thankfully, Peta has endless support from her handsome hubby. “[He] has always really pushed me in a good way into doing and experiencing new art forms,” she gushed of Maks. “I mean, he is my No. 1 supporter, and he’s always the one to tell me, ‘You need to go and do this! You need to try this! You need to see if you’re good at this!’ … It means everything to me to have such a solid family backing. He’s incredible.” Peta is such an amazing wife and mama!
