Dating is always a complicated thing, regardless of where you are in your life, and Jane Seymour knows all about that — she recently recalled looking for love in her 60s.

The 68-year-old attended The Paley Honors: A Special Tribute to Television’s Comedy Legends on Thursday, November 21, and spoke about her role in the Netflix series The Kominsky Method, especially the storyline that focuses on two older people hitting up the dating scene again.

“I kind of had a little bit of experience in that because I found myself single six years ago and I I said to my daughter, what am I going to do? I can’t date, I wouldn’t know what to do. How does this work?” Jane recalled exclusively to Closer Weekly. “It had been 25 years. I mean, Tinder wasn’t going to happen. You know, the whole idea of you know that age … it’s like, well, my gosh, first day, what did we do? I mean, how many dates do we have before you kiss? And yeah, and then? And then what do you do about children and grandchildren?”

The actress also revealed that she offered bits of her life to the show’s creator, Chuck Lorre, for the popular series. “I think actually, I probably fed a couple of ideas in Chuck’s direction, too,” she said.

However, things turned out quite well for the Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman star, as she has been in a relationship with David Green. “I just think it’s pretty remarkable, actually, because most women my age do not find someone else,” Jane told Us Weekly about her man. “If they do, they usually find a very much younger man, and it’s an uneven relationship.”

“I think it’s really wonderful I found a contemporary, someone I knew 40 years ago. We both had lives, and now we found one another, and we have another chance,” she continued, adding that getting married probably isn’t in the cards.

“I’m just enjoying life and not tying knots,” Jane joked. “I don’t think knots work for me. No. I’m keeping my heart open.”
