Jennifer Aniston and Matthew Perry Get Real About a Possible ‘Friends’ Reunion — See What They Said!
What a bummer!
Jennifer Aniston and Matthew Perry have both recently spoken out about a possible Friends reunion or reboot show — and neither star thinks it could ever realistically happen!
“I have this recurring nightmare — I’m not kidding about [Friends],” Matthew, 47, told Variety on Monday, June 5. “When I’m asleep, I have this nightmare that we do Friends again and nobody cares.”

“We do a whole series, we come back, and nobody cares about it. So if anybody asks me, I’m gonna say no,” he continued. “The thing is: We ended on such a high. We can’t beat it. Why would we go and do it again?”

Basically not a day goes by that Jennifer isn’t similarly asked about a possible remake of the hit 90s sitcom — and the actress’ latest response to the question is arguably her best one yet.
“If Friends was created today, you would have a coffee shop full of people that were just staring into iPhones. There would be no actual episodes or conversations,” the 48-year-old actress said on Arianna Huffington‘s new Thrive Global Podcast with iHeartRadio on Wednesday, May 10.
In a previous interview, Jennifer similarly said new technology and social media have basically ruined any chance of a Friends revival actually happening. “I don’t know what we would do. I think that period of time was sort of nostalgic,” she said in December 2016.
“I think people have such affection for [the show], even though it was only [a few years] ago since it ended. There was something about a time where our faces weren’t shoved into cellphones and we weren’t, like, checking Facebook and Instagram, and we were in a room together, or at a coffee shop together, and we were talking… having conversations. And we’ve lost that,” Jen continued.
