Pretty in Purple! Kate Middleton Makes Rare Royal Appearance Wearing Pants for Solo Outing in London

After spending Commonwealth Day with her royal counterparts, Kate Middleton stepped out the next day as a party of one for an event supporting families in London. Since we hardly ever see the Duchess of Cambridge donning anything other than a skirt or dress, many fan royal fans were shocked and excited when she opted for black pants for the Tuesday, March 12 event.

Looking as gorgeous as ever, the 37-year-old joined a group of parents and their kiddos partaking in classes offered by the local Lambeth Early Action Partnership (LEAP) and Parent and Infant Relationship Service (PAIRS) in South London. One of the sessions is called “Circle of Security,” which offers parents and caregivers — with children from infants to 4 years old — the opportunity to get a better grasp of understanding their child’s emotions. It also helps a child manage their emotions while increasing their self-esteem.

In order to get a greater understanding of how families can be helped through a child’s early years, Kate set up a group to look into ways to improve the efforts of these organizations. “She has a really deep interest in the early years and parenting and families,” David Holmes, CEO of Family Action, told People. “Being a parent changes your life so much. It’s great that she’s using her own experience and is interested in an area which is such a shared experience for so many.”

Not only is Kate doing amazing things but she looks great while doing it!
