L’Wren Scott Laid to Rest in LA by Mick Jagger & Family

A week after L'Wren Scott committed suicide in her New York City apartment, the fashion designer was laid to rest in Los Angeles by long-time boyfriend, Mick Jagger, and 20 other friends and family members.

After jetting back to the States from Australia where he had been on tour with the Rolling Stones, Jagger immediately began preparations for Scott's funeral, arranging for her body to be sent cross-country to LA.

The funeral took place on Tuesday, March 25 in a small chapel on the grounds of the historic Hollywood Forever cemetery, a family spokesman confirmed.

Jagger, Scott's brother Randy Bambrough, talent agent Justinian Kfoury, costume designer Ira M. Hammons-Glass and magazine director Adam Glassman all spoke at the service, according to various reports.

Actresses Nicole Kidman and Ellen Barkin were also reported to be in attendance at the private funeral and Stones background singer Bernard Fowler performed at the gathering with former Eurythmics band member David Stewart.

An onlooker outside the cemetery observed that the entire site was closed off for privacy and roses in many different colors were seen being brought onto the grounds.

Shortly after her death, Jagger posted a brief statement about his girlfriend of 10 years on his Facebook page, writing, "I am still struggling to understand how my lover and best friend could end her life in this tragic way."

The 70-year-old added, "We spent many wonderful years together and had made a great life for ourselves. She had great presence and her talent was much admired, not least by me."

Scott will reportedly be cremated, per her wishes.
