Lady Gaga Talks Parenthood and What She Hopes for Her Kids: ‘That’s the Greatest Gift of All’

Are Little Monsters in store for Lady Gaga? The pop star dished about how she can see herself bonding with her kids one day — hopefully, over makeup.

“My mom [Cynthia Germanotta] is beautiful from the inside out,” the 33-year-old told Allure magazine while promoting her new Haus Laboratories beauty brand. “What a rare thing, I really hope that when I have maybe a little girl one day, or a little boy, and they see mommy put her makeup on, that they have the same experience that I did. That’s the greatest gift of all, when you can connect with your parents.”

On Tuesday, July 8, the “Shallow” crooner announced her new endeavor to her fans and how her mom was there since the beginning. “To make my mom proud, I built this company from the ground up, as an entrepreneur,” she said. “We got an investor, and we put everything together. This is a 15-employee company. I made tons and tons of boards that had all of our imagery, all of our makeup, all of our product shots, all of our model shots. I actually presented it to my mom.”

The blonde beauty detailed the first time her mom saw her vision come to life. “I brought her into a room filled with boards, and I said, ‘Mommy, I’ve been working on something, and I want to show it to you.’ She got all choked up, and it was a really special moment.”

The Grammy winner revealed she got into the beauty industry because of her mama and explained their tight bond. “I’ve always been really close to my mom,” she revealed. “When I was a little girl, I was just fascinated with her morning beauty ritual. I would wake up, and I would see her getting ready for work. She would apply her foundation, her lipstick, her mascara. She would look so, so beautiful and so strong. She just had such a bravery about her, and it was so inspiring to me. I grew up with this understanding that you can be brave in many different ways, and one of those ways is makeup.”

Gaga recently shook up the film landscape with her incredible performance in the Bradley Cooper directed, A Star Is Born. The 44-year-old A-lister recently parted ways from model Irina Shayk — this after four years of dating. The couple share one daughter, Lea. “The movie had a major impact on Bradley and Irina’s relationship,” a source recently told Us Weekly. “Even though there was nothing romantic between Bradley and Gaga, the noise was difficult for Irina to deal with.”
