Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz’s granddaughter just did something pretty special to celebrate the famous comedic duo.
Kate Luckinbill, the couple’s youngest grandchild, posted a video on TikTok earlier this week. The clip features a brand-new tattoo. And of course, this artwork was far from ordinary.
What does a tattoo have to do with her grandparents? As it turns out, Luckinbill inked her forearm with the words “A Desilu Production.” And yes, that’s exactly what she is.
What do fans think of Luci and Desi’s granddaughter’s new tat? The comment section was flooded with applause, memories, and more, including “It’s wonderful”, “That is the coolest tattoo idea I’ve ever seen! What a way to honor your grandparents!” and “Well, there is no truer tattoo!”
One commenter posted, “I just know your mom is gonna roll her eyes at this and I absolutely love that.” Luckinbill replied, “She says, ‘okay now no more!’ After each one.”
The praise kept flowing for Luckinbill’s design: “I think everyone can go home. Nothing will beat this”, “How creative! As a little girl I loved that font, still do,” and “In the history of tattoos I’ve yet to see one more bang on perfect than this. And I have four.”
Lucy and Desi’s granddaughter wasn’t the only one to share her tattoo of the legendary actress. A super-fan added, “I have an epic portrait of your grandmother on my thigh. It’s IMO the most gorgeous picture of her! Yours is so creative and so fitting! I love it.”

The daughter of Ball and Arnaz’s daughter, Lucie Arnaz, and Laurence Luckinbill is currently the Creative Director and Curator of New Licensing for Desilu, Too — a company that manages her grandparents’ estates. Based on the tattoo and charismatic clip, it looks like Luckinbill may have inherited Ball’s iconic sense of humor and comedic strength.
What is Desilu Productions?
Aside from Luckinbill being a literal human Desi-Lu production, Desilu is also the company that was founded by her grandparents, Lucy and Desi, in 1950. The successful husband-and-wife endeavor produced some of TV’s most famous shows, including I Love Lucy, The Lucy Show, Star Trek, Mission: Impossible, Mannix, and The Untouchables.
After more than a decade of Hollywood success, Ball sold the production company to Gulf and Western Industries (which would eventually become Paramount) in 1967.
