The Duchess of Sussex is reportedly in the Big Apple! According to Us Weekly, Meghan Markle paid a surprise visit to New York City to spend time with friends before giving birth to her first child with husband Prince Harry this April. The pregnant royal, 37, was allegedly spotted dining with a close pal at the Ladurée restaurant and bakery in Manhattan’s SoHo neighborhood on Saturday, February 16.
“They were having a lovely time, laughing and talking with each other,” an eyewitness told the magazine of the duo’s time together. Meghan also reportedly stopped by the high-end children’s clothing store Bonpoint during her trip to NYC. It’s unknown at this time how long the duchess will be in New York or if she also spent time with her BFF Jessica Mulroney, who was also in the City That Never Sleeps this past weekend.
Harry and Meghan want to keep the duchess’ American roots prevalent in their royal baby’s life, too. According to a new report from the U.K.’s TheSunday Times, the couple is even considering one day sending Baby Sussex to an American school in England. The private, coed ACS Egham International School in Surrey, which used to be known as the American Community School, is conveniently located nearby Harry and Meg’s new Frogmore Cottage home — they’re expected to move in any day now! — so it could be a great educational fit for their future child.
