Larry King Sweetly Recalls Meeting Meghan Markle: “She Reminded Me of Princess Diana”

Ever since Meghan Markle became engaged to Prince Harry back in November 2017, the royal-to-be has often been compared to her late mother-in-law, Princess Diana. But now, one of Hollywood's biggest radio icons, Larry King, has too revealed that Meghan undoubtedly reminded him of Diana when they previously met.

"When Meghan was on my shows, I loved her passion. She spoke about her projects with a true burning passion about them. She was also a person who stood up for what she believes in. She is not the type to shy away from speaking her mind. She reminded me of Lady Diana in the way that she speaks up for what she believes is right, but I believe she may be more political than Diana was," the 84-year-old told Us Weekly in a recent interview.

Larry also told the entertainment news outlet that Meghan, 36, is "a terriffic person." He sweetly added, "She will truly make an amazing princess… [and will be] a great source of pride to the UK and the royal family." Interestingly, Diana's royal biographer Andrew Morton recently wrote in his new book, Meghan: A Hollywood Princess, that Meghan used to think of her fiancé's mom as a role model.

"She was intrigued by Diana not just for her style but also for her independent humanitarian mission. She saw her as a role model," an excerpt published by The Sunday Times explained. Harry's former butler, Grant Harrold, has also publicly said that Meghan is acting just like the late People's Princess with her "modern approach" to being royal.

In another interview, a childhood friend of the Suits star revealed Meghan wants to be "Princess Diana 2.0" for the British people. "She was always fascinated by the royal family.
