‘NCIS’ Premiere Dates Announced Across the Franchise
CBS confirms three ‘NCIS’ series premiere dates, with big returns, twists, and turns on the way.
The wait is almost over for NCIS fans. CBS has officially announced when the franchise returns this fall, with the original NCIS, the new spinoff NCIS: New York, and NCIS: Origins all premiering on the same night.
In a new press release, CBS announced that Tuesday, October 6 is the big debut day for three shows within the NCIS universe. Unfortunately, fans of a fourth show, NCIS: Sydney, will have to wait until January 2027 for that premiere.
Michael Weatherly is returning to NCIS for Season 24 after several years away. Special Agent Anthony DiNozzo will be incorporated into a season-long arc, according to Variety.
His return to the network comes after Weatherly and Cote de Pablo did a season of NCIS: Tony & Ziva, which aired on Paramount+. Weatherly has promised fans that they do not have to worry about any history revisions regarding what Tony and Ziva experienced together.
Mark Harmon reprises his role as Leroy Jethro Gibbs, appearing on-screen in a season-long storyline for NCIS: Origins. Harmon has narrated the NCIS prequel series, but now, he will be back on-camera, as well.
NCIS: New York is the newest spinoff in the family, and it’s bringing some heavy hitters to the screen. LL Cool J and Scott Caan star, and the series has added Jennifer Beals, Jacqueline Byers, Shane Harper, and Devin Druid, as well.
Viewers first met Special Agent Sam Hanna, played by LL Cool J, when he starred on NCIS: Los Angeles. Hanna is returning to his hometown of New York, and he partners with “a roguish agent,” played by Caan.
After the premiere date was revealed via the NCIS universe Instagram page, fans went wild.
“Here was me having a bad day and now @ncisverse just made it so much better although the headache is still here,” declared one fan.
Someone else admitted, “I’m like a little 70 year old child getting ready for Disney. I [cannot] WAIT.”
Season 23 of NCIS gave viewers a juicy cliffhanger, with the fate of Wilmer Valderrama‘s character, Special Agent Nick Torres, unknown. Valderrama talked to People after the finale and teased there were “major changes” ahead.
“If you ask me to speculate, I think there’s a major, major shakeup happening and that episode one is going to bring both … I don’t want to get in trouble for this one … there’s some major changes, and there are some major additions,” Valderrama carefully promised.
With three NCIS series launching on October 6, and NCIS: Sydney returning in January, CBS is giving franchise fans plenty to look forward to over the coming months.
