You Can Score an Invite to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Royal Wedding!
We're booking our flight to London right now! It has just been announced that members of the public will be invited to take part in Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's royal wedding. Just when you thought you couldn't love the couple more, they revealed their plans to let commoners onto the grounds of Windsor castle on their big day.
"They want their wedding day to be shaped so as to allow members of the public to feel part of the celebrations too," Kensington Palace shared in a statement on Friday, March 2. "This wedding, like all weddings, will be a moment of fun and joy that will reflect the characters and values of the bride and groom."

Basically, 2,640 people from a "broad range of backgrounds" will be allowed to watch the couple's arrival and departure from St. George’s Chapel on their wedding day, scheduled for Saturday, May 19 at 12 p.m. UK time. The potential attendees will be nominated by nine offices of the Lord Lieutenants, who are basically Queen Elizabeth's representatives and will include an estimated 1,200 young people who share the couple's passion for leadership and philanthropy.
The lucky guests will also include 200 members from Harry and Meghan's favorite charities, 100 children from local schools, and 610 people who work and live on or near the castle and church. There will also be 530 employees of the Royal Household in attendance. So, scoring an invite might be harder than we anticipated.
Harry and Meghan announced their engagement on Nov. 27, 2017, and gushed about each other in their first TV interview shortly after. "This beautiful woman literally tripped and fell into my life," Harry said of his future bride. "I fell into her life and the fact that she will be unbelievably good at the job part of it as well is obviously a huge relief to me because she’ll be able to deal with everything else that comes with it."
If you can't make their wedding in person, you can always watch on television, but be sure to set your alarm. The ceremony will start at 7 a.m. EST and the carriage procession will follow one hour later. Let the countdown begin!
