Rest in peace. Quincy Jones is paying tribute to his late ex-wife, Peggy Lipton, days after she sadly died on Saturday, May 11, after a long battle with cancer. The famed music producer shared an emotional message along with a sweet throwback photo of the two in honor of The Mod Squad actress, who he shares daughters Rashida Jones and Kidada Jones with.

“There is absolutely no combination of words that can express the sadness I feel after losing my beloved Peggy Lipton,” the 86-year-old gushed in a statement that he shared to Twitter on Tuesday, May 14. “We shared many, many beautiful memories, and most importantly, we share two incredible daughters.”

Along with his heartwrenching message, Quincy posted a pic from back in the day of the two looking happier than ever as he planted a kiss on Peggy’s cheek. In his statement, the Grammy Award-winner explained that although their marriage ended after 14 years in 1990, he still had nothing but love for his late ex-wife.

“Regardless of the paths that our lives took us on, I can say with the utmost certainty, that love is eternal,” he added. “Thank you all for the love and support you’ve shown me and my family.”

Quincy asked for fans and friends of the Golden Globe Award-winning actress to make donations in lieu of gifts and flowers. He explained that the family requested those who are generous enough to donate to Seasons Hospice, the company that cared for Peggy in the days leading up to her death.

The Twin Peaks star bravely battled colon cancer since she was diagnosed in 2004 and up until her final days. Following her diagnosis, Peggy received treatment and even went on to play roles in films including When in Rome, A Dog’s Purpose and she even appeared in Rashida’s Netflix documentary, Quincy.

Earlier this week, Kidada, 45, and Rashida, 43, confirmed the heartbreaking news of their mom’s passing. “We are heartbroken that our beloved mother passed away from cancer today,” the two women said in a statement. “She made her journey peacefully with her daughters and nieces by her side. We feel so lucky for every moment we spent with her. We can’t put all of our feelings into words right now but we will say: Peggy was, and will always be our beacon of light, both in this world and beyond. She will always be a part of us. We ask that you respect our family’s privacy.”

We miss you already, Peggy!
