It feels like 1998! Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman proved they’re still friends today after the two reunited at the 2018 Oscars, 20 years after the premiere of their film Practical Magic — and it’s so good to see the Owen sisters together again.
Niciole hilariously crashed Sandra’s red carpet interview by cheekily telling her to “topple over,” prompting an impromptu reunion two decades after the movie hit theaters. “She’s doing it again, Nicole Kidman always butts into my stuff. Say it again, say ‘topple over’ again,” Sandra joked.
This is Sandra’s first Oscars appearance since 2014 when she was nominated for Gravity. She’s a presenter tonight, but will star in the upcoming film Ocean’s 8, premiering this June. And Nicole will be her biggest fan. “This is a woman I love,” the blonde beauty sweetly said. “I can’t wait to see Ocean’s 8.”
Fortunately for fans, the A-listers quickly changed the subject to talk about Practical Magic. “We were talking about when we shot [Practical Magic] together and we asked her to get the tequila, she came back with her own tequila but we drank it anyway. We were a little drunk,” Sandra shared, to which Nicole added, “I love that movie. I showed that movie to my kids. It’s a little above their [level of understanding]… But we’re really good sisters.” And Sandra’s response was priceless! She exclaimed, “I think we are. And we’re really good drinkers too!”
Twitter is now hoping for a sequel to Practical Magic and quite frankly, so are we. One user wrote, “MAKE PRACTICAL MAGIC 2.” Another added, “Give the people the Practical Magic sequel they crave please.” One commented, “NICOLE KIDMAN AND SANDY BULLOCK ARE TALKING ABOUT PRACTICAL MAGIC THIS IS NOT A DRILL THIS IS NOT A DRILL.” Hopefully, Sandra and Nicole will be discussing script ideas at an after party tonight!
