She may have to face her fears in her role in the movie Bird Box, and Sandra Bullock revealed that she has to do the same in real life, too. The actress recently opened up in a candid interview with People about having a severe case of mom stress. “I’m constantly having to override my fear,” Sandra confessed.

In her new movie, the 54-year-old plays the role of Malorie, a woman who comes face to face with an unknown evil. Along with her two children, the family-of-three must escape the entity — all while being blindfolded.

Playing a character who must save her kids is something that Sandra can relate to. “You get so good at saying no and you’re so panicked about everything,” the Oscar-winner stated. “You literally have to stop and say, ‘Why did I just say no? Why don’t we just play hooky from school one day and just go enjoy life?’”

Off the big screen, the Miss Congeniality star is the loving mom to her adopted kids, 8-year-old Louis, and 6-year-old Laila. During an interview with KTLA 5 Morning News, the brunette beauty opened up about what life is like with two young kiddos. “I know now what it feels like to be afraid every single day because I love my kids to the point where I’m a little neurotic,” she explained. “When they leave the house and go to school I check my phone constantly… did the school call?”

And while every mom (and dad) experience the dreaded fear of something happening to your kids, Sandra acknowledged that she needs to trust them more. “I have to learn how to relax within a world that spins that kind of worry and remind myself, and my children, that it is also a hopeful place,” she said to KTLA.

But unfortunately for the actress, she has dealt with fear her entire life. Luckily though, she has her boyfriend, Bryan Randall, by her side as she raises her youngsters. “I’m afraid and I want to make sure that I do everything in my power to protect these two beautiful children that I’ve been blessed to raise,” Sandra added. We have a feeling you’ll do just fine, girl!
