‘Star Trek’ Star Leonard Nimoy Hospitalized With Severe Chest Pains

Get well soon, Leonard Nimoy!

The 83-year-old Star Trek alum was reportedly hospitalized last Thursday, Feb. 19 with severe chest pains.

At the time, law enforcement sources allegedly confirmed a 911 call was placed on the actor's behalf. Leonard was subsequently transported to the UCLA Medical Center.

This hospitalization is just the latest health scare for Leonard who previously announced he had been diagnosed with the lung disease COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease).

"I quit smoking 30 yrs ago. Not soon enough. I have COPD. Grandpa says, quit now!! LLAP," he Tweeted on Jan. 29, 2014. The sign-off "LLAP" stands for "Live Long and Prosper," a nod to his 'Star Trek' role.

It is unclear whether Leonard remains in the hospital at this time.

The actor famously portrayed Dr. Spock on 'Star Trek' from 1966 to 1986. He most recently reprised the role for the 2013 film 'Star Trek Into Darkness.'
